Our Presentation Dinner and AGM

Message from Brian Dawson, our chair:

Given the current pandemic, we are understandably not able to hold our Annual Meeting at the Toorak Hotel in Torquay in February 2021.

Therefore, the AGM and presentation of certificates and trophies will take place via Zoom on Saturday 6th February. The times have yet to be confirmed, but we are planning for the AGM at 11am and the Presentation at approximately 12.30. More details will be sent to all members when the arrangements are confirmed, along with the connection link to Zoom either online or by phone.

We do want to celebrate the journeys you have achieved during 2020, and your involvement is essential to for this. I, along with the officers and committee members do look forward to seeing (and hearing) you in a few weeks' time. In the meantime, keep safe and well.

Information for more "usual" years:

All members and their guests are warmly invited to join us for our Presentation weekend, held each year at the Toorak Hotel in Torquay in early February. In 2020, we had a successful and enjoyable weekend over the 7th, 8th and 9th February. Each year, the AGM takes place on the Saturday morning of the weekend and the Presentation Dinner on Saturday night. During the dinner, all new members are presented with their certificates, and the various Cups, Trophies and Medals of the Association are awarded.

Bookings may be made with Eldon Mackridge at <eldongladys@btinternet.com> or telephone 01440 703270. We look forward to seeing you!

Late Summer Holiday Weekend

We meet at a different location each year in late summer, and in 2019 our holiday weekend was in Ironbridge. The editor of our magazine Quo Vadis?, Steve Gibbs, wrote:

"Once again, our congratulations go to our Social Secretary Eldon Mackridge for organising a superb weekend in a stunning location where there were so many things to do and sights to see that it was all too short... Great weather on Saturday meant nice strolls along the river bank and over the famous bridge were very relaxing, especially finding the nice cafes for a refreshing tea."

Our 2020 late summer weekend did not take place due to covid-19.
